The Compact Laundry

The Brief

With a busy household and a compact townhouse, our client needed a highly efficient laundry that made laundry day easy. The space had to double as a mudroom entry and accommodate a washing machine, condenser dryer, ironing station, dog wash, and general storage—all within a tiny 2.4m x 1.8m footprint.

The Solution

Our design team approached this layout with millimetric precision. We stacked the washing machine and condenser dryer inside a dedicated utility cupboard, framed by custom overhead drying cabinets and a slim, pull-out hanging rail.

We introduced deep, soft-close drawers that house three separate pull-out hampers for separating whites, darks, and colors on the spot. For durability, we selected matte sage cabinetry doors that resist fingerprints and paired them with a highly robust engineered white benchtop. A Gunmetal Grey pull-out spray tap over a deep undermount sink offers premium utility for rinsing garments or cleaning paws.

The Handover

The entire renovation was completed in just two weeks, including all waterproofing, tiling, plumbing, and trade fit-outs. It is proof that even the smallest spaces in our homes can become beautiful, hard-working hubs when intelligently designed.
